Job Summary

Work Shift

1 - First Shift

The Engineering Change Notice (ECN) Coordinator acts as the main liaison to communicate concerns between Engineering and Production departments and to resolve problems with ECN changes. This position evaluates cost differences between new and old methods in order to ensure cost effectiveness. This position produces the bill of materials for production units, route manufactured unit components, and release updated drawings to production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Exhibit the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors.

2. Coordinate inventory for all ECNs and notify all departments of the changes that will affect them.

3. Route and structure inventory on ECN and enter into resource planning software.

4. Enter bill of material information from ECN into resource planning software.

5. Notify all affected departments of ECN changes, date effective, and inventory instructions.

6. Check ECN contents for accuracy and completeness.

7. Determine most cost effective means of producing new production parts and route this information to resource planning software. Provide appropriate Company departments with cost information on new design projects.

Education and/or Experience

- Associate's degree in Manufacturing Engineering.

- 2-3 years job experience and/or training with Machine Shop and/or Shop Floor; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Other Skills and Abilities

- Must be a competent Excel user with the ability to work with formulas and use macros. Macro and pivot table knowledge preferred.

- Knowledge in the area(s) of machining, machining capabilities, product design, machine costs, welding, and assembly.

- Ability to effectively manage ECN's and floor inventory.

- Ability to react quickly to ECN's to promote accuracy and reduce excess scrap materials and costs.

- Ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner.

- Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to effectively manage time and resources.

- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while supporting the department.

- Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers.

- Ability maintaining positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and peers.

- Ability to maintain precision when entering information into MRP systems, calculating steel required, and machining times.

Travel

Up to 5% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
