Job Description

Job Overview:

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for helping the School to Work program at Good Samaritan Hospital by developing strategic partnerships in targeted areas of student team member growth and education as well as assisting in overseeing the established program, and recognition celebrations.
The Program Coordinator will assist in recruiting, placing, training, and coaching of new student team members, recruit additional departments for School to Work Students and assist staff to develop new student positions; Help design student team member assignments and help coordinate schedules with Cincinnati Public Schools; Work with Director directly when conflicts arise and assist the Director with setting student team member policies and procedures.

Assist in planning and managing ongoing recruitment strategies for student team member workers. When needed, handle public speaking, volunteer engagements and personal contacts.


The Program Coordinator will also conduct interviews, screen candidates, make assignments, and when needed meet with staff managers and supervisors regarding mentorship. Give insight on the student team member orientation handbooks; Assist with direct and indirect supervision.
Act as a "third party" moderator to resolve any problems; Maintain overall standards for performance and supervision;
Assure ongoing motivation and appreciation - working with the Manager on major events and projects;
Conduct regular program and student team member evaluations; Assess individual performance review; Ensure that student team members do self-evaluations and have opportunity to evaluate their training & supervision.
Monitor the annual budget, receipts, and disbursements staying within budget parameters, and provide timely reports to appropriate parties. Assist the manager in preparing annual program reports and present to necessary stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree/Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research proficiencies
Organizational skills and detail oriented
3-4 years' experience in a related field


Job Responsibilities:

Oversees the daily operations of the school to work department and other designated areas as assigned. Helps manage the intake process from recruitment, screening and interview through orientation, training, placement, counseling, and problem solving.

Travels to recruitment events at colleges, high schools, and various civic organizations when Director is unable. Implements school to work recruitment goals. Reports results regularly to Director and Executive Director.

Maintains accurate and timely volunteer personnel records and ensures all volunteer records are confidential. Implements annual evaluation of volunteer performance process. Counsel's volunteers on performance improvement as needed. Develops and implements training programs for volunteers on HIPPA, confidentiality, safety and other programs as needed.
Assist in overseeing the planning and implementation of the School to Work Program including recruitment, evaluations of performance, training, and recognition.
