THE OPPORTUNITY:

Inpro/Seal is proud to be hiring this new positionat ourestablished and successfulISO certified manufacturing facility in Rock Island, IL. THE POSITION:

The Materials Supervisor oversees inventory accuracy and the storage, control, and distribution of materials throughout the facility. This working role is also a backup for Purchasing and Planning functions.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • At least 3 years' experience of being responsible for the management and supervision of the inventory & materials control team, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems for materials management, with Infor Syteline experience being a plus.
  • Experiencein being able to safely operate a forklift truck and other relevant lifting / slinging equipment.
  • A familiarity with Lean, Total Quality Management, Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
  • Due to the physical nature of the role, you will need the ability to lift up to 50 pounds in weight.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Supervisory responsibilities for approx. 12 employees in shipping, receiving, and material handling.
  • Analyze work levels on a daily basis and assign labor where needed in the materials department.
  • Responsible for standardizing all functions of the materials area on first and second shifts.
  • Validate standard work is being followed on both shifts.
  • Manage the cycle count program to assure accurate daily reporting.
  • Reconcile the various warehouses and locations in the Inpro system for accuracy.
  • Manage aged inventory report and make necessary adjustments
  • Utilize root cause problem solving to analyze, report, and resolve material shortages and accuracy issues.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining 5S principles for the materials department.
  • Ability to cross-train in all functions of the materials department, including Purchasing and Planning.
  • Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain to reduce scrap discrepancies, prevent idle machines in need of material, and maintain OTD (On Time Delivery).
  • Analyze material flow and make recommendations for improvements.
